Sculpture Course at Cooper Union

SCULPTURE Cooper Union School of Art, New York January 17-May 8, 2006 This course helps participants develop their ideas into projects of their own choice. During group meetings, full attention is given to the spatial, material and theoretical conditions surrounding the work in question. More specific issues concerning individual projects are addressed on a one-on-one basis. Lectures and readings supplement class exchange to help situate the work of the participants in the larger context of contemporary culture and social experience. Designed to foster the development of the students’ own work, this course devotes balanced attention to the practical and theoretical aspects of the artistic project. The course is comprised of four segments: work, lectures, reading and writing.
